Meet Me at the Bar

When I’m not eating tacos, I’m getting toned! How, you ask? BODYBAR Fort Worth!

What is BODYBAR you ask? Owner Kamille McCollum explains the BODYBAR approach below!

“During our Pilates, strength training workouts, we focus on slower controlled movements, isometric holds, core and posture. While gradually building intensity, you are pushed to muscle failure or fatigue. Maintaining time under tension is the key. The greater the effort you put in means less time you have to train. Classes range from 45-60 minutes, with multiple formats to accommodate every level of fitness and to continually challenge your body to avoid a plateau. If you’ve never done pilates before, we welcome athletes of all levels. Our instructors are trained to teach to all levels and will offer modifications to safely challenge you. We understand that regardless of where you are in your fitness journey, there are days when you feel stronger than others. For that reason, our workouts are created to motivate but also make you feel successful. If you have specific medical conditions or severe back/joint pain that requires extra attention, we do recommend a private session so that you can feel comfortable with the equipment and get a sense of how your body will react to the pace of the workout.”

To get the best results, pilates should ideally be done between two and three times a week and should be incorporated into a training program that includes cardiovascular exercise. However, if you only have the time and money for one session a week it is still very beneficial. As Joseph Pilates said, ‘in 10 sessions you will feel a difference, in 20 sessions you will see a difference and in 30 you will have a whole new body’. Once you have been taught the basics you should be able to apply them to everyday life!
