As you all know, I took a quick trip with my mom to Baltimore earlier this week. As soon as I landed all I wanted to do was get a delicious, fresh crab cake (my east coast weakness). Little did I know, I was about to have the most fabulous fine dining experience.
Once we got all settled at the fabulous Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore (more on that later), I quickly asked the concierge where I could find the best crab cake in Baltimore. Without hesitation, she suggested Ouzo Bay, which is an upscale Greek seafood restaurant. After reading over the menu, we trusted her suggestion and made reservations right away.
From the moment I walked up to the restaurant I was sold. The restaurant had a very posh feel. The Ouzo Bay patio was decorated with all white linen tables accompanied by modern bright blue and silver accents. The inside had a more intimate feel with dimmed lighting and candle-lit tables. Luckily, our reservation was for the patio so we could enjoy the beautiful views of Inner Harbor.
Once we were seated we were welcomed with an assortment of delicious breads. After one bite of their double-stuffed raisin bread, I was hooked. Our Seafood Meze (appetizer) was the most perfect Kavourokeftes (jumbo lump crab cake)! Let me tell y’all, the good Lord blessed that crab cake. The freshness of the crab mixed with the most amazing mustard aioli was a match made in heaven.
For my entree, I had the Fileto (Filet Mignon), which was served with roasted lemon potatoes and grilled asparagus. Again, another match made in heaven. The steak was so flavorful, you did not even need steak sauce. I am also not a huge fan of asparagus, but the seasoning was so superb that I ate every bite. The roasted lemon potatoes were just the icing on the cake for the whole meal. My mom had an assortment of vegetables. While one would think this was boring choice, I was all in her plate because they were so good! Her vegetables were the Brocolo (Broccolini sautéed with garlic and extra virgin olive oil), Psita Lachanika (Grilled seasoned vegetables), and Spanakorizo (spinach rice). To top off the dining experience, guests receive a complimentary shot of Ouzo (greek liquor).
The hospitality, food, and environment were all so perfect. I definitely had one of the most amazing dining experiences at Ouzo Bay and cannot wait to return for more!
Above is a slideshow of all of the wonderful food we had at Ouzo Bay! If you are ever in Baltimore or Boca Raton, be sure to treat yourself to this life-changing Greek seafood experience.
