For me, the perfect summer weekend would include a nice pool, good food, and lots of relaxation. Well, I recently found where you could get all of these things in one place! The Hilton Anatole!
Last week, my mom and I stayed at the Hilton Anatole for the first time. As soon as we checked in, we were captivated by all of the beautiful and unique artwork that can be found all throughout the hotel. Beautiful chandeliers and statues greeted you at every twist and turn. There was even a statue in our hotel room. We were greeted by the cutest palm tree drink floats and wristbands to the Verandah Club & Spa and JadeWaters. It was a rainy day, so we were pretty bummed that we might not get to experience JadeWaters in its entirety, but we decided to try to have a bite out there before our spa appointment.
As soon as we reached the gates of JadeWaters, a miracle had happened. The sun was actually shining! It was the most perfect timing for a quick poolside bite. For those who don’t know, JadeWaters is a resort pool complex that is exclusive to Hilton Anatole guests and features a leisure pool with a swim-up bar, beach-entry family pool, lazy river, luxury cabanas, a splash zone with two 180-foot slides, and JadeWaters Grill & Bar. Since we didn’t have much time before our massages, we opted to split the nachos and boy were they great! I couldn’t wait to try more food at JadeWaters after our appointment.
After our quick bite, it was finally time for our massages at the Verandah Club & Spa. I had been looking forward to this all day. V Spa welcomed us with the most comfy robes and sandals. We enjoyed light refreshments, tea, and water while we wait for our massages. My mom and I both had amazing swedish massages and relaxed in the eucalyptus sauna afterwards. We also freshened up a little in the Verandah Club’s amazing women’s locker room equipped with lavish vanities. After all of this amazing relaxation, we were ready to eat again!
Of course we went right back to JadeWaters to grab another bite. This time I had the chicken tenders while my mom enjoyed the strawberry and feta salad. Both the food and service were so great. (Shout out to Jared for the awesome service!) You would think that we would be done eating at this point, but we are not! Next up: SĒR Steak!
Since SĒR Steak is located on the 27th floor of the Hilton Anatole, our table had the perfect view of the Dallas Skyline. The ambiance was perfectly set with a great view, dim lighting, and live music. We were welcomed by the world’s greatest server, Robert! Robert informed us that we would be having special selections from executive chef Mike Shetsky. We began our dining experience with raw appetizers. Our first appetizer was the Hamachi Crudo, which is chef’s selection of seasonal fish, enoki, barrel aged soy, pepper smash, whey dashi, and pickled lime. This isn’t something that I would usually order, but it was amazing and not very fishy at all. Our next appetizer was the Tartare Deviled Eggs. These deviled eggs were made with akaushi beef, deviled egg sauce, and smoked trout roe. Both of these raw appetizers were paired with the most amazing rose champagne, but unfortunately I forgot the name! 😦
After two great raw appetizers, we moved to the “beginnings” . Our first one was the Rockefeller Oyster and let me tell you, this was LIFE CHANGING. These oysters were made with Syracuse andouille, creamed collards, and cornbread. I am not an oyster person, but I loved these. Robert paired August Kesseler R Riesling Kabinett with these to top it off. We then moved on to the “produce” section of the menu with miniature baby iceberg and romaine salads. The baby iceberg salad had tomatoes, bacon, bleu cheese, and buttermilk ranch, so good! The romaine salad had caesar dressing, parmesan sbrisolona, preserved lemon, and white anchovy. What made the romaine salad so unique was they used pop rock-like croutons, so it gave the salad a little pop! We also enjoyed the Castello Banfi San Angelo Pinot Grigio Toscano as our pairing for the salads.
Now it was finally time for the main event. My mom was served the 12 oz NC heritage long bone rib pork chop. I was served a 45 days aged bone-in cowboy ribeye. Note: this cut is not on the menu, but I would highly recommend asking for it! Our selections were accompanied by elote, foraged mushrooms, and twice baked potatoes. All of these items were so flavorful. I had never had a meal so good. Our main courses were paired with Orin Swift Abstract, Napa and Saldo Zinfandel California by The Prisoner. As soon as we saw all of our food laid out, we immediately regretted not wearing sweatpants, but we did the best we could lol!
To top off the whole dining experience, we were treated to a trio of Creme Brulee Panna Cotta, Chocolate Coulant, and Beignets. The Creme Brulee Panna Cotta is made with burnt sugar crystals, pistachio dust, and pistachio ice cream. It almost tasted like pudding, delicious! The Chocolate Coulant had salted caramel, candied pecans, and peanut butter ice cream. This is a chocolate lovers dream. Last, the beignets were almost like donuts and served with Bailey’s cafe! We ended the night with Michele Chiarlo Nivole Moscato d’Asti. We had the pleasure of meeting the amazing Mike Shetsky and could not thank him enough for the dining experience of a lifetime. If you have never been to SĒR, I highly suggest going ASAP. You will not regret it. (Just make sure you wear something stretchy lol)
We were so full after our delightful dinner that all we could think about was sleeping. We had no problem getting a good night’s rest in the big and comfy beds! I swear I woke up still full from last night, but the next morning brought even more delicious food as we woke up to breakfast in bed. My mom had the oatmeal with wheat toast, while I enjoyed the All American breakfast with toast, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. It was the perfect breakfast after the previous night’s feast. With Sunday’s perfect weather, we decided to work off some of that food at JadeWaters!
My mom and I decided to swim over to the swim-up bar to order some delicious drinks. We had refreshing mango daiquiris that were decorated with yummy fresh fruit. It was the perfect way to cool off. The environment was full of fun and energy as everyone was enjoying the lazy river, slides, and poolside service. Our server Trae made sure that we had a great time as he gave us awesome customer service. Per his recommendation, I ordered club turkey wrap for lunch. It was the perfect light bite to end such a perfect stay.
It was so hard for me to leave the Hilton Anatole as our experience was so great. It truly has something for everyone. Whether you are a family with small children or just someone seeking a getaway, you will be sure to find what you need at the Anatole. Thank you so much Courtney M. for coordinating this whole stay. I also want to give a special thank you to my mom for being my guest of honor! Check out more images from our stay below.
